Our residences: not dorms, but real homes in the heart of the city
When we talk about housing for young athletes, the difference between a decent solution and a “residence life” comes down to two things: location and care.
Our residences are not anonymous buildings in the suburbs. They are not isolated dorms where boys are left on their own.
Our athletes live right next to the historic centre of Francavilla Fontana, in a one-floor building next to the main church. There are two separate apartments in the same place. It is not a large dorm. It is a selected solution for a small group, with close support.
Safety and quality of life: here nobody “disappears in the dark”
Francavilla Fontana is a city where small crime is almost absent. The community is close, and there is a “shared” kind of control from families and the club. Boys are not left alone. Adults monitor them, and often older athletes also help.
The homes are less than a five-minute walk from the arena. The arena has been upgraded (Mediterranean Games circuit): new locker rooms, air conditioning, sustainable technologies, parking, EV charging stations, solar panels, and more.
A real living city, not an empty suburb
Many clubs place young players “far away”. We do the opposite. If the family allows it, our athletes live the real city: shops, cafés, squares, and people. Not isolation. Not the loneliness of the outskirts. They walk in a human and protected environment, inside real daily life.
The main high schools (Scientific High School and the Technical/Business School) are only a short walk from the arena. These schools are among the most qualified in the province. FBF has a direct and constant relationship with principals and teachers. The athlete is never left alone at school, and the school path stays coordinated with the family.
A real daily presence, not just “cooking and laundry”: Mrs Claudia
No hourly staff, no “occasional presence”. We have Mrs Claudia. She lives in the residence 24/7. She supports the boys in every way: cleaning, laundry, meals, and also real human support. She is there when someone feels unwell, when someone needs attention, when someone needs a word. This is not the “kitchen-laundry and done” model. This is constant and real presence, recognised by the boys themselves.
Comfort and attention to details
The homes are large and bright. The boys have internet, a study area, a Sky subscription to watch sports, and a balanced diet that is planned and monitored. Everything is designed for sports growth and personal growth.
A family-like environment and daily life together—often with boys coming from different backgrounds—create real bonds, friendships, and a sense of belonging.
This is not a mass solution. It is not an experiment. It is a quality choice, selective and cared for in every detail.
Arena: excellence just a few metres away
The FBF arena is one of the reference venues in the region: 2,000 seats, a well-equipped gym, new locker rooms, and technologies and services designed also for big events.
Everything is close. No long travel every day.
Schools: direct and constant contact
High schools (Scientific High School, Business School, and others) are just a short walk away. The club speaks directly with principals and teachers to follow every school aspect and guarantee full support for the athlete.
Conclusion – Why this is a different choice
Choosing our residence means choosing a real life: safe, central, protected, with no compromises.
Two dedicated homes, not a mass dorm.
A real 24/7 presence, not just words.
A central location, not the suburbs.
A close link with school and family.
A care model that is not for everyone, but for those who truly want to grow as athletes and as people.
And now, let the images speak.
