After the U13 National Finals in Ancona, FBF secures its second National Final of the season. It is the club’s fourth National Final qualification in the last three years, confirming the strength and continuity of the FBF youth development project.
FBF Fortitudo Basket Francavilla has officially qualified for the U19 Gold National Finals, which will take place in Piazza Armerina, Sicily, from 12 to 14 June.
It is another major achievement for the club, another important chapter in the recent history of Fortitudo Basket Francavilla, and another clear sign of the direction taken by the entire FBF project.
This qualification is not an isolated episode. It is not the result of a single lucky game. It is the outcome of a demanding journey, built step by step, against strong opponents, in a national phase where every game carries the weight of a final.
The U19 Gold team, led by head coach Gianluca Caramia and assistant coach Francesco Cavallo, completed its path by winning the decisive final against Riva dei Greci/Bernalda with a thrilling 70-69 scoreline.
It was a tough, intense, one-possession game, decided by character, composure and the ability to stay mentally strong until the very last play.
With this victory, FBF has earned its place among the top eight U19 Gold teams in Italy.
A journey built with strength and consistency
FBF’s road to Piazza Armerina was anything but easy.
In the quarter-finals of the interregional bracket, the team defeated ValTur Brindisi with a clear 109-72 win. It was a strong performance, built on offensive rhythm, energy, depth and collective presence.
In a knock-out game, FBF showed personality from the beginning and sent a clear message about the quality of the group.
The next step was even more demanding: the national semi-final against Pass Roma.
Once again, the team responded. FBF won 75-67 at the end of a real battle, against a solid and competitive opponent. It was not an easy game, but the team showed maturity, discipline and the ability to manage pressure.
That victory opened the door to the final game of the bracket, where FBF faced Riva dei Greci/Bernalda.
The final was a true fight. The final score, 70-69, tells the story better than many words: minimum margin, maximum tension, and the need to stay focused on every single possession.
FBF suffered, reacted, defended, found solutions and protected the result until the final buzzer.

A qualification that means more than one result
Reaching the U19 Gold National Finals means entering a very specific level of competition: the level of the best teams in Italy.
The final stage will be played in Piazza Armerina, in the province of Enna, from 12 to 14 June. Only eight teams will be there, selected through a long and complex national path involving regional phases, interregional rounds and national play-offs.
FBF will be one of them.

FBF will represent Francavilla Fontana, the province of Brindisi and Puglia basketball on a national stage.
And this is, without exaggeration, a huge achievement.

The second National Final of the season
The U19 Gold qualification comes just after the participation of the FBF U13 team in the National Finals held in Ancona and Osimo.
Two National Finals in the same season.
This is not normal. It is not obvious. It is not common, especially for a club from Southern Italy working every day to build a competitive, sustainable and recognizable youth development model.
The U13 group represented FBF among the best youth teams in Italy. Now it is the turn of the U19 Gold team, a more mature group, ready to live a different but equally prestigious national experience.

On one side, the youngest players of the project. On the other, an U19 team that represents years of work, training, travel, sacrifice, responsibility and growth.

Fourth National Final in three years
The qualification of the U19 Gold team to Piazza Armerina is the fourth National Final reached by FBF in the last three years.
First came the historic participation of the U19 Eccellenza team in the National Finals in Chiusi, where FBF entered the top eight teams in Italy.
Then came the U17 Eccellenza National Final.
This season, the club has already reached the U13 National Finals in Ancona and Osimo.
Now comes the U19 Gold National Final in Piazza Armerina.
Four National Finals in three years.
At this point, it is no longer an episode. It is a trajectory.
It means the technical project has a direction. It means the club has built an identity. It means the work done with coaches, teams, organization, facilities and daily training culture is producing measurable results.
